Matthew Smith on Superpeer
Senior Designer
Matthew Smith is either two wily bear cubs stacked in a trenchcoat or a full grown man—some days it’s hard to tell. He’s raising up three kiddos and hops in between life in San Francisco and Greenville, SC. On the work front, he's a senior designer with an obsession to build meaningful relationships between people and organizations through emotionally connected design. He owns the studio Fathom & Draft and founded the expansive marketing community Really Good Emails. His design brain’s been on projects for Walmart, Seth Godin, Gates Foundation and MIT to blatantly name drop. Thankfully, he was rarely asked to leave the room. On top of that, he’s helped lead three venture-backed startups and founded Atlas Local, a vibrant co-working space in Greenville, SC. All of these adventures feed his talks on design, business, leadership, the euphoric qualities of Japanese Ramen, and The Golden Age of Email—it’s coming, so strap on your spam pants and brace yourself. He throws pots (on the pottery wheel, mostly), shoots pictures and rides a Triumph Scrambler. Not bad but he also looks forward to Canasta-filled days with tennis balls on his walker and a grumpy old man scowl on his face.
