He started producing for local Alabama artist while still a sophomore in high school and after years of perfecting his sound he secured his first placement in 2013 on a CyHi The Prynce track entitled "A-Town" featuring 2 Chainz, Travis Porter, & B.O.B. The feature set the stage for a flourishing career and deep focus that would soon create a buzz around his work in the industry. His natural ear for music and unique blend of gumbo pot boom bap, soul and current Hip-Hop has created a sought-after sound that has led him to work with respected artist such as Hitboy, Nas, Ty Dolla $ign, Bobby Sessions, Anderson Paak, and the late great Nipsey Hussle. In a game that is flooded with talent and brilliant up and coming basement producers Rafeal stands out due to his versatility, genius arrangements and recognizable hunger to outwork those around him. After landing placements on the title track for the hit Fox Pictures movie The Hate U Give, Big Sean’s # 1 album Detroit 2 and the bold yet timely track “Ultra Black” on legendary rapper Nas’s # 1 Hip-Hop album Kings Disease, Rafeal has proven that his hustle, heart, and pure talent will always set him apart in a crowded and ever changing industry.
