Career Management in the Digital Age

You and I both know that how you manage your career is different now. This isn’t the same economy your parents had. So much more is digital, but there still is a connection to the past. How do you navigate this new economic landscape? If there’s one thing that my professional network would say about me, it’s that I’m always navigating the digital world and finding ways to make it work for me, my family, and my students. However, I started my career as a traditional Fortune 500 recruiter. I recruited for companies like Western Digital, Hitachi, private hedge funds, biopharmaceutical companies, construction companies, and everywhere in between. So I know both sides of the fence – traditional careers and the digital economy. Some things about me: • I created Career Hacking™, the world’s best-selling career management course, which helps people build effective resumes, LinkedIn profiles, cover letters, and interviewing skills. I’ve spent over 6 million minutes with more than 250,000 online learners in 192 countries. • When I was 35, I taught myself how to code. Then, I started taking coding contract gigs, and building software products. • I make money from MANY different websites and digital platforms – some of these channels generate tens or hundreds of dollars a month, others generate thousands of dollars a month. • I have written resumes for hundreds of people located all over the world in every imaginable career scenario. • I participated in Stanford’s startup lab (StartX) while launching an education company. I raised seed capital, paid it back to investors over time, and raised additional rounds of financing for my digital business using new financing laws that allow you to sell shares to individual people over the Internet (this is called equity crowdfunding). So, if you’re looking for somebody who is in it with you, who has experienced many different parts of the modern economy, who is very experienced with learning and skilling up, who’s practical, and who wants to help, let me know. I’ll be here for you.
