Freelance Web Developer, Retired Journalist & Labor Activist
Hi! I'm Bina. Retired 63-year-old journalist & labor activist has now settled in Norway. In my long life, I have lived and studied in six countries, worked in all of them, and have had many firsthand experiences. I earned my high school diploma and college degree in the United States. In Iran, I experienced a revolution and a war. In the U.S. and Iran, I organized student movements and labor movements. I was arrested by the Islamic Republic's security agents and held captive for nearly three and a half years. Later released, only to be threatened with prosecution after the upheaval of 2009. In a sense, I was chased out of Iran - I considered myself to be too old to serve a prison term again. Therefore, I fled to Turkey to be processed by the United Nations as a political refugee. Following that, the Kingdom of Norway granted me asylum and I have been living here ever since. In the past five years, I've been learning and coding as a web developer. I have coded in Ruby and JavaScript. I have made many apps using the Rails & React frameworks. Now! As I sit here, I hope you will decide on how and from what part of my experience you would like to benefit.
