Alan Hill on Superpeer
Android Engineer
Hi! My name is Alan Hill and I have been developing Android apps for 5 years. When I first started learning Android Development, I was working with a company that did a lot of government contracts. We wanted to try to introduce mobile apps to our clients and settled on developing Android apps. That's when I realized I was in way over my head. What was Dagger? Should I use Volley or OkHttp? And what about Retrofit? What was a RecyclerView? Activities vs Fragments? Soooo much information. I needed help. I needed to find someone to guide me through this process. So, that's what I set out to do: find a place where I could learn about this crazy world I found myself in. Eventually, this opportunity to work directly with some of the best experts in the mobile development world opened up. And I took it. They not only taught me how to create some of the best apps in the world, they pointed me to the right resources to be able to learn. I also got the opportunity to build apps for some of the biggest names out there: HBO, Fox, and Regal Entertainment. Perhaps you have an app I worked on on your phone? Now, I want to offer people the same help I received. To show people how to create a fantastic app from the ground up. To navigate the confusing world of Android Development and learn what will make them the best developers possible.
